Sport psychology is about helping individuals build confidence, manage pressure, and perform at their best, while supporting their mental wellbeing.
At One More Sport Psychology, we work with young athletes, academy players, and professionals to strengthen the mental side of performance. Whether you’re preparing for a big competition, recovering from injury, or simply not enjoying your sport like you used to, psychological support can help.
What Is Sport Psychology?
Sport psychology is the study and application of how mindset, emotions, and behaviour impact performance. It also explores how sport influences mental health and overall wellbeing.
Common challenges we support include:
- Performance anxiety and nerves
- Low confidence in sport
- Overthinking or fear of failure
- Bouncing back from mistakes
- Injury recovery and return to play
- Building resilience and consistency
Our approach is always evidence-based, person-centred, and tailored to each individual.
Who Can Benefit From Sport Psychology?
We support:
- Youth athletes and teenagers experiencing pressure, self-doubt, or setbacks
- Academy and grassroots players preparing for trials or scholarships
- Parents seeking trusted psychological support for their child
- Athletes returning from injury who are rebuilding confidence
- Performers (e.g., dancers, musicians) facing high-pressure environments
Working with a Sport Psychologist is about being proactive, self-aware, and committed to personal growth.
What Does a Sport Psychology Session Involve?
Each session begins by building trust and understanding your unique journey. From there, we use practical, research-backed tools to help you:
- Strengthen self-belief and motivation
- Improve focus and emotional regulation
- Develop helpful routines and coping strategies
- Manage stress, pressure, and performance demands
- Rediscover enjoyment in your sport
Sessions are available online, or in-person in Suffolk, Essex, and London, and are always supportive and confidential.
Why I Started One More Sport Psychology
As a young goalkeeper in a professional academy, I struggled with confidence and anxiety, both of which affected my performance. At the time, I didn’t know what a sport psychologist was, let alone that support existed for the mental side of sport.
Now, as a Sport Psychologist (in Training), I work with athletes across the UK, U.S., and Europe to make sure the support I needed back then, is available to others. My approach blends psychological science with genuine care, helping athletes feel understood, empowered, and psychologically equipped.
